May a second person stay in my room?

Switzerland

The accommodation of another person, without a valid rental agreement with Room Estate, is prohibited.

If family members, friends and acquaintances are accommodated for longer than is usual for a normal visit, it is to be assumed that the use of the accommodation is in breach of the tenancy agreement. The number of persons is clearly defined in the rental agreement and must not be exceeded. The inclusion of further persons leads to an over-occupancy of the apartment. For this reason, in such a case, we as the landlord are obliged to terminate the tenancy after issuing a warning. Apart from the legal aspect, we do not think it is fair to the flatmates if a tenant takes in further persons.

Do you think that a roommate is accommodating a second person (without a rental agreement with Room Estate)? In this case we kindly ask you to inform our support. We will check your report immediately and take the appropriate steps.
